Fees
RMB 10,800 per semester (including textbooks, cultural experience activities but excluding any extra optional field trips).
We offer a 40 percent discount on the fees above to the following types of students:
- students who are already studying at XJTLU (degree only)
- students who have previously studied at XJTLU (degree only)
- University of Liverpool students and recent graduates (within the past two years)
- XJTLU staff, their partners and adult children
- other partnership university students
*Discount is only available for applicants who apply before 15 January 2026.
How to apply
The application and tuition payment deadline for China Language Spring Course is 15 December 2025.
For students in Mainland China with a Chinese Resident Permit, the deadline is extended to 15 January 2026.

Note:
Please noted that a class runs only if at least five applicants have registered.
For students who are currently located in China, the university may require additional documentation for visa extension/transfer. For students who are continuing in the course, it is normally expected that you enroll onto the next level.
The Practical Chinese Language course is offered to students onsite only. It is suggested that applicants who are currently outside of China check the border policy between their home country and China before applying.

Overview

Levels offered
We provide practical Chinese language courses for learners at the beginner, elementary, intermediate, and advanced levels (HSK1-HSK6/CEFR A1-C1). Our classes consist of at least five students.
Dates
The Spring semester course runs from 2 March 2026 to 18 June 2026, 16 teaching weeks altogether.
Schedule
There are 12 hours of standard classes per week, scheduled on four weekdays. This allows you three days to explore the sights and sounds of wonderful China and presents lots of opportunities to practice the Chinese you have learnt in class.
Additional Chinese cultural sessions are also provided during the programme as part of course fee.
