On September 7, IBSS is holding 2025 IBSS Alumni Conference. The half-day event includes an Industry Keynote Speech, Parallel Sessions, IBSS Alumni Award and a Networking Dinner. With the theme of “Navigating Tomorrow: Pioneering Business for a Sustainable and AI-driven Future”, let’s gather together to explore and impact the future.
In the Parallel Sessions, we will communicate and share with many business and academic luminaries around three themes. We will focus on different industries and fields to discuss together and gain in-depth insights.
Industry Keynote Speech: 2049, Reflections and Insights Spanning a Quarter Century
Keynote Speaker: Wu Chen
Renowned business writer and strategic thinker
Introduction: WU Chen is a former Editor-in-Chief of The Economist Global Business Review and a columnist for Beijing-based The Economic Observer. In recognition of his outstanding achievements in the field of financial and economic media, the IE Business School in Spain awarded him the Asian Financial News Annual Grand Prize in 2021.
"2049, Possibilities in the Next 10,000 Days", a book Wu Chen coauthored with Keven Kelly, will be published in June 2025. In the past, Wu Chen has published the "Great Transformation Era" trilogy: "Undercurrent: Ripples, Turbulence, and Trends" (2022), "Breakthrough: Exploration and Innovation in an Unknown Era" (2023); and "Reshaping: Entrepreneurial Spirit, Common Sense Innovation, and New Management Thinking" (2024).

Topic 1: Re-Examining ESG and Sustainable Business
Topic brief:Today, many businesses are under huge pressure to fully adapt their operations to be more sustainable and face the ever mounting challenges of climate change, resource depletion, and rapid population growth on our planet. In this Parallel Session, we review the different pressures facing business today, arguing both for and against the need for rapid business adaptation and helping to discriminate between what is necessary and what is desirable, in the arena of ESG and business sustainability.
