From 7th to 9th June 2025, Dr. Binqi Tang and Dr. Huiyang Li, Assistant Professors at the College of Industry-Entrepreneurs (CIE) and the HeXie Management Research Centre (HeXie Academy) of Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), were invited to attend the AIB Special Theme Conference & The 8th East China University of Science and Technology - University of San Francisco International Symposium held at Wenzhou-Kean University. The conference, themed “Private/Family Business Globalisation and Sustainable Development”, attracted numerous academic and business elites.
Following the main forum, Dr. Binqi Tang and Dr. Huiyang Li participated in discussions and exchanges at various sub-forums.
Dr. Binqi Tang engaged in in-depth discussions with several entrepreneurs at the Entrepreneurs Forum on strategic pathways for industrial collaboration, focusing on how to balance economic benefits and environmental responsibilities during global expansion, thereby promoting the sustainable development and industrial upgrading of private enterprises. Additionally, Dr. Tang held a deep dialogue with Professor Ling Chen from Zhejiang University during the thematic seminar on Family Business Succession, exploring the topic of “Social Responsibility in the Globalisation Process of Family Businesses”. They discussed how family businesses can balance international expansion with the fulfilment of social responsibilities in the context of globalisation, to drive sustainable development and corporate governance innovation.
At the “Family Business Governance, Succession, and Globalisation” sub-forum, Dr. Huiyang Li provided professional commentary on several presented papers and offered constructive revision suggestions, earning high recognition from participating scholars. Subsequently, at the Top Journal Editors’ Exchange Forum, Dr. Li engaged in in-depth discussions with Deputy Editors of?Management World,?Journal of International Business Studies, and?Journal of Business Research?on cutting-edge topics, journal review processes, and timelines, providing valuable academic insights for attendees. Furthermore, Dr. Li held a discussion with Associate Professor Rong Zhu, Head of the Department of Organisational Management at the Business School of Beijing Technology and Business University, on matters related to undergraduate and postgraduate admissions and graduate destinations, exploring potential future collaborations. During the Informal Exchange Session, Dr. Li introduced the development and progress of the CIE and HeXie Academy to professors and entrepreneurs from both domestic and international institutions. Dr. Li also discussed future conference hosting with Professor Xiaohua Yang from the University of San Francisco, initiator of the AIB Asia Pacific Chapter.
Through this conference, Dr. Binqi Tang and Dr. Huiyang Li not only successfully promoted the achievements of the CIE and HeXie Academy but also engaged in in-depth discussions with sister institutions on Master’s admissions and Summer Camp initiatives. Additionally, they established extensive connections with renowned scholars, industry experts, and journal editors, laying a solid foundation for the future development of the College. This participation not only enhanced the College’s international influence but also provided strong support for future academic collaborations and resource integration.
