On August 8, the 17th Annual Conference of Management in China – Practice Exploration Forum was successfully held at the School of Economics and Management, Inner Mongolia University in Hohhot. Under the theme “Telling China’s Story Through Theory – Constructing and Refining Original Theories”, the event delved into Chinese management philosophy, reflected on research methodologies, focused on local practices, and addressed key issues in China’s economic, social, and organizational development. Renowned scholars from institutions such as Tsinghua University, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Xi’an Jiaotong University, Beijing Institute of Technology, Nanjing University, and Shenzhen University, along with business leaders from companies including Inner Mongolia Minfeng Seed Industry, Beijing Jun Cheng Industrial Investment Group, and Ordos Electric Metallurgy Group, gathered to exchange the latest insights on Chinese management theory and practice.
In his keynote speech titled “ 'Intelligent’ Leader (Talent) in the Post-AI Era: HeXie Mindset and Syntegrative Wisdom”, Professor Xi explored talent development and educational transformation in the digital intelligence era. He emphasized that in the age of AI, redefining the purpose, meaning, and approach of education has become an urgent priority. Education, he argued, should adopt a paradigm based on system integration, dynamic equilibrium, and co-creative value, principles central to HeXie Management Theory (HXMT) .
Professor Xi underscored that the AI era is not a zero-sum competition between humans and technology, but a symbiotic relationship in which both enhance human potential and drive societal progress. XJTLU, he stressed, refuses to see AI as a substitute for human intelligence, but rather as a digital intelligence that augments uniquely human qualities— faith, passion, curiosity, creativity, critical thinking, contextual judgment, ethical reasoning, and the ability to navigate ambiguity.
To this end, he proposed a systematic reconstruction of educational frameworks to cultivate "syntegrative wisdom" through deep synergy between human intelligence (HI) and digital intelligence (DI). This involves fostering complex thinking, critical analysis, collaboration, communication, and innovation—skills central to HeXie mind development and lifelong, interest-driven learning.
Professor Xi also presented XJTLU’s Education + AI Strategic Framework (2025–2028), which outlines six key areas: AI Governance, AI: Education and Experience, AI: Research and Innovation, AI: Industrial Collaborations and Entrepreneurship, AI: University Organisation and Operations, and AI Infrastructure and Support. The goal is to enhance talent development quality and international impact by leveraging AI across education, research, and societal engagement.
