At the Deans' Panel, Professor Xiaobo Xu, Executive Dean of the College of Industry-Entrepreneurs (CIE) and Director of the Hexie Management Research Centre (Hexie Academy) at Xi’an Jiaotong-Liverpool University (XJTLU), joined deans from Rutgers University, University of Miami, Stevens Institute of Technology, University of Science and Technology Beijing, and the Indian Institute of Management to discuss AI impact on business and engineering education.
Professor Xu further elaborated that, under the guidance of this framework, CIE and the Hexie Academy are actively exploring the integration of education, industry, and AI. The Hexie Management Theory provides a unique perspective on the synergy between human intelligence (HI) and digital intelligence (DI), aiming to foster “Syntegrative Wisdom” through system integration, dynamic balance, and value co-creation.
He also highlighted the mission of CIE: to advance integration across industry, academia, research, government, and society, fostering AI talent development, innovation and entrepreneurship incubation, and cross-sector collaboration, thereby supporting regional and global industrial transformation. Looking ahead, CIE and the Hexie Academy will further consolidate internal and external resources to build the X-Eco Mall, an important platform for research translation and innovation ecosystem cultivation, creating lasting value for both the university and society.
Professor Xu’s remarks received enthusiastic responses from the audience. Participants widely recognized that the synergy of the Education+AI strategy, Hexie Management Theory, and the X-Eco Mall initiative not only provides a compelling model for the future of higher education but also offers fresh inspiration for universities worldwide in achieving cross-border integration and value creation in the age of AI.
