New Postgraduate Students Induction Event Successfully Held

On September 4, 2025, the College of Industry-Entrepreneurs (CIE) and the HeXie Management Research Centre (HeXie Academy) held the 2025 New Postgraduate Students Induction Event, officially marking the beginning of the new students' academic journey. The event aimed to help students gain a comprehensive understanding of the college and research centre's development history, faculty strength, and academic resources, providing solid support for their future learning and development. Through systematic introductions and in-depth exchanges, the event successfully built a communication bridge between the students, the college, faculty, and senior students, assisting the students in smoothly stepping into this new academic phase.

Professor Xiaobo Xu, Executive Dean of CIE and Director of HeXie Academy, first delivered the opening speech. On behalf of all faculty and students, he extended a warm welcome to the Class of 2025 and provided a detailed introduction to the college's overall situation, including the Five-Star Education Model, three training pathways, and the newly established MSc Entrepreneurship and Innovation?programme, emphasizing the educational philosophy of integrating "industry, academia, research, government, and society." Dean Xu also stated that the college will continue to optimize teaching quality, strengthen faculty development, expand international cooperation, and actively promote the construction of an alumni network, committed to providing students with a comprehensive growth platform and cultivating future industry leaders.

During the?programme?introduction session, Dr. Qingwei Wang, responsible for The Smart Ageing and Health Management pathway, Dr. Huiyang Li, Deputy Director of the Enterprise Governance, Innovation and Succession Pathway, and Dr. Bo Fang, lecturer for The Strategic Human Resources Management pathway, provided in-depth interpretations of the distinctive features and development prospects of their respective pathways, offering clear guidance for the student's future academic directions.

Subsequently, the faculty advisors of the Entrepreneurship and Innovation Student Club (EISC), the Student Club of Talent Ecosystem Development (TED), the Smart Aging and Health Management Association (SAHA), and the HeXie Mindset Development Association (HMDA) introduced each club and project in detail. This concentrated showcase provided students with diverse development platforms. In a harmonious atmosphere, everyone envisioned their futures, exchanged ideas on development paths, and established initial connections with the project leaders, laying a solid foundation for subsequent learning practices and deep involvement.

Ms. Mengqi Zhang from the Student Affairs Office spoke on the theme of students adaptation and personal development. She offered two core suggestions: first, encouraging students to establish a scientific time management system to improve learning efficiency by identifying priorities and conducting regular reviews; second, advocating for a positive mindset during periods of uncertainty, developing good habits based on interests, and paying attention to physical and mental health as well as financial safety.

Student representative Wenfan Li shared her joy and aspirations for joining the Enterprise Governance, Innovation and Succession Pathway at XJTLU. She expressed that XJTLU's international education model highly aligns with her personal development vision and looks forward to achieving personal growth and social value through diverse academic and team collaborations.

Zuopeilin Lin, a current student in The Strategic Human Resources Management pathway, shared his personal experiences based on a year of study and life at the Taicang campus. He fully affirmed the support provided by the campus environment, teaching facilities, and faculty-student interactions for academic and personal growth, and advised students to actively utilize electronic resources and proactively participate in professor-led projects to broaden their horizons and accumulate practical experience.

The New Postgraduate Students Induction Event concluded successfully amidst warm applause. This event not only enhanced the student's sense of identity and belonging to the college but also provided direction for reasonably planning their university life. The College of Industry-Entrepreneurs and the HeXie Management Research Centre will continue to provide students with high-quality educational resources and broad development platforms, assisting every student in growing into a high-quality management talent with both moral integrity and professional ability.
