Established in 2018, the School of Intelligent Manufacturing Ecosystem (IME) at XJTLU Entrepreneur College (Taicang) was founded in response to the challenges of the Industry 4.0 revolution. Adhering to the Syntegrative Education concept, IME focuses on talent cultivation and technological innovation in the field of intelligent manufacturing.

The school offers an undergraduate programme in Intelligent Manufacturing Engineering with Contemporary Entrepreneurialism and a master’s programme in Intelligent Engineering Science and Industrial Operations. It integrates resources from multiple disciplines such as mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, and industrial engineering, with a focus on teaching and research in areas like intelligent manufacturing system planning, advanced manufacturing methods and etc. It aims to cultivate compound professionals with international perspective, interdisciplinary knowledge, and practical abilities.

In terms of industry-education integration, IME has a deep cooperation with global-leading eco-partners like Haier Group, jointly building an education innovation and application oriented ecosystem. It transforms real industrial scenarios into teaching cases and develops a unique curriculum system, integrating “new engineering + management + innovation”, developed an industry-university-research collaborative platform, influencing the advanced manufacturing cluster in the Yangtze River Delta. Through the path of “theoretical learning – project practice – industrial application”, it has formed a model for cultivating high-quality talents for the further intelligent manufacturing industry.
